FORUM REBOOT/FORUM RULES

The Forum was getting too big for our servers, and spam comments broke the forum table, so I've pruned the old posts. Your old account is still active.

FORUM RULES

1. Be Civil.

Trash talking is the foundation of good, fun football conversation. But there's a difference between trash talking and attacking someone.

Saying "Green Bay Sucks!" is perfectly alright, and actually expected.

Personal attacks, such as racist comments, will not be tolerated and your account will be locked.

Swearing is fine--we're all adults here--but try to keep the level of discourse around here civil. Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean they're a troll, or an idiot, or evil.

Above all, don't be a jerk.

2. No Spam.

Linking to an article on your site is fine. But low-content posts designed only to drive traffic to your site will be deleted. Repeated violations will cause your account to be locked.

Any posts advertising a product or service will be deleted and your account will be locked.

3. Ticket Sales

Posting tickets for sale is fine, as long as they are your own personal tickets. No ticket brokers or scalpers, please.

4. Reporting Complaints

If you see posts that break the above rules, or you feel another poster is unfairly attacking you or generally being a jerk, feel free to email the moderators at forum@3dollarcooler.com.

5. Miscellaneous Stuff

The moderators reserve the right to delete any post or user account on this forum for any reason.

That Hurts!

In the intro for Sunday Night Football, we saw a horrible cross-promotion featuring NBC's hit television series, "Heroes". I noted to my friends how ridiculous it was and that it would be the lowlight of the night.
Once, again.....I was REALLY wrong.
Rex Grossman gave the nay-sayers more ammo. Bernard Berrian made a rare dropped catch.....TWICE (One of which could've been a touchdown). Devin Hester couldn't break a run. The defense allowed a certain wide receiver that I hate to get open constantly and let Tony Romo look like Madden's love child.
Oh, and Lance Briggs got hurt. Oh, so did Nathan Vasher, Tommie Harris, Adam Archuleta, Alex Brown, Ruben Brown, Fred Miller, Darwin Walker and Adewale Ogunleye.
The turnover woes continued as Grossman threw three interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. Cedric Benson also added to his fumble totals, although the replays showed his knees were on the ground before the ball was ripped out.
The Bears looked horrible and the Cowboys used it to their advantage by humiliating them. Gotta give credit to them for making the proper second half adjustments, in which they scored 31 of their 34 points. The Bears looked like they made no adjustments, whatsoever. However, that can be tough to do when half your team is laying on the field.
The Bears currently stand at 1-2 with the division opponents coming up in the next three weeks, consecutively. Will the Bears beat the woeful Vikings and Lions? How will they do against the 3-0 Packers?
With all the injuries they are suffering, it's hard to tell until the final whistle blows.

We Fought the Law, and the Law Won

"Open the gate, or we'll crash through it."
Talk about famous last words!
As we arrived for the home opener on September 16th, we were stunned to find that the Adler Planetarium Lot wasn't just blocked off.....but the whole driveway leading to it was blocked off from ANY traffic!!
Cars, trucks, buses, RV's, Breadtrucks, shopping carts, dogs and cats were circling the stadium, trying desperately to find SOMEWHERE to park until they opened the parking lot at 11:15...exactly 4 hours before the game.
However, no matter where they went, cops waved tickets at them, security threatened to tow them, hoodlums tried stealing hubcaps.....ok I made that last one up.
We were forced to drive the Bears Bus around the city, finally sitting at 16th and Wabash unti we felt the time was right to go back to the stadium. We were welcomed to a huge line that wrapped around the stadium, all the way to the 18th Avenue exit from Lake Shore Drive. Luckily, we cut across on McFetridge.
Needless to say, many tailgaters and fans were upset over the long-unenforced 4 hour parking rule now being forced upon us like a shot to the head with a sledgehammer.

As I posted on the ChicagoBears.com forum........
"The parking situation is WAY out of control!!! My group has been tailgating for 7 years and this is the first time they've pulled this crap. There were absolutely no problems when the lots were opened more than 4 hours before the game. Why stop now and cause traffic headaches and long lines for all of us avid tailgaters (and people trying to get good parking)?
I don't know about you, but I've had enough. It seems as if someone (the city, park district, Soldier Field, Standard Parking) keeps taking away one or two things from us tailgaters each year.
First we were all forced to the Adler Lot when the new stadium opened in 2003.....but it cost a lot more money to do so. ($45 Adler parking at old Soldier Field --- $75 Adler parking at new Soldier Field)

Home Opener

The slightly rejuvenated Bears Bus will leave Casa del Cohen at 9am, hopefully arriving at the Planetarium parking lot around 10am. The company line regarding the parking is that they don't open until 4 hours before the game.
Our company line is, "Open the gate or we'll crash through it."
If you're feeling adventurous, swing by and say hello to the 3DC Crew!! You can't miss us. We'll be packed in with the RV's and buses.
